Patents — Permissions
Overview
The Patents module uses two permission labels under the module name Patents. Both the Patents tab and the Documents tab are controlled by the same permission set.

Usage

Access the /patents screen, browse both tabs, view patent detail modals and document type entries, and download attached files. |
Users without view are redirected away from the module.
Workflows
| Permission | What it enables |

Create new patents and document types; edit existing active records; update patent status; add notes; deactivate and reactivate document types. |
Note
Editing a patent is blocked when it is in a terminal status (REJC or INAC). The Update status action is always available to users with edit, regardless of current status — this is the path to reopen a rejected or inactive patent.
