Inventory — Permissions

Overview

This page documents the permissions used in the Inventory module. The module covers two screens with different access models: Products has no permission controls, while Inventory Management uses three layered permissions.

For general access concepts and permission categories, see: Permissions & Access

Permissions by transaction

Route: /products

Products has no permission controls. Any authenticated SARA user can access the Products screen, view the product catalog, and create or edit products.

Module name: "Inventory management"

Permission Grants access to
inventory management Access /inventory-management; My inventory request tab (own requests only); create new outflow requests (OIR.XXXX); view, review, and cancel own requests.
see all Inventory request tab — view outflow requests from all users company-wide (requires inventory management).
administration Inventory Entry, Inventory Catalog, Movements, and Pending items tabs; mark outflow requests as ready (PEND-READY) or reject them (REJC) from the Review modal (requires inventory management).

Typical role mapping

  • Requester (project or department staff)

    • inventory management
  • Supervisor / planner (visibility across all requests)

    • inventory management
    • see all
  • Inventory / Warehouse administrator

    • inventory management
    • see all
    • administration

Troubleshooting access

  • If Inventory Management is not accessible or redirects on entry, the user is missing the inventory management permission.
  • If only the My inventory request tab is visible, the user has inventory management but lacks see all and administration.
  • If the Inventory request tab is missing but operational tabs are visible, the user has administration but not see all — both can be assigned independently.
  • If the Inventory Entry, Inventory Catalog, Movements, and Pending items tabs are all missing, the user needs the administration permission.
  • If the Reject button does not appear inside the Review modal on a PEND request, the user lacks the administration permission.
  • Products is accessible to all authenticated users — no permission assignment is needed.
  • To request access, contact your supervisor or system administrator.
