Travel Expenses — Permissions

Overview

This page documents the permissions used in the Travel Expenses feature. Permissions determine who can access the transaction ledger and who can import new card statements.

Permissions by transaction

Module name: "Travel expenses"

Permission Grants access to
view Access /travel-expenses; view the full transaction ledger; assign unassigned transactions to a project or department.
edit Download CSV format button (downloads the import template); Import button (upload XML or CSV card statements).

Note

The Assign expense action (resolving Unassigned transactions) requires only view — no edit needed.

Troubleshooting access

  • If the Travel Expenses menu item is not visible, the user is missing the view permission.
  • If the Import button or Download CSV format link is not visible, the user is missing the edit permission.
  • If the Unassigned button appears but the assign modal does not save, verify that the target project or department is active in the system.
  • To request access, contact your supervisor or system administrator.
