Suppliers — Permissions

Overview

This page documents the permissions used in the Suppliers module. Permissions determine which transactions a user can access and which actions are available within them.

The same two permission labels apply to both the Suppliers tab and the Credits tab.

For general access concepts and permission categories, see: Permissions & Access

Permissions by transaction

Permission Grants access to
view Access the /suppliers screen and both tabs. View row action (full supplier profile with ratings, contacts, and bank accounts). View POs row action. Documents modal (read-only). Toggling the designated star on any supplier.
edit New Supplier button and creation form. Edit row action (edit all supplier fields and manage bank accounts). Documents modal upload button (add new compliance files). Deactivate / Activate row action.
Permission Grants access to
view Credits tab is visible. View POs and View Payments row actions.
edit New Credit button and creation form. Pay row action (register a payment against an active credit). Edit row action (modify credit terms). Deactivate / Activate row action.

Note

Both tabs are accessible with view alone — there is no separate permission to hide the Credits tab from a user who has view.

Typical role mapping

  • Purchasing agent / buyer

    • view
    • edit
  • Read-only viewer (e.g., project manager needing to check supplier info)

    • view

Troubleshooting access

  • If the Suppliers menu item is not visible, the user is missing the view permission for the Suppliers Catalog module.
  • If the + New Supplier or Edit actions are not visible, the user is missing edit.
  • If the Pay or Edit buttons are not visible on a credit row, either the user is missing edit or the credit has INAC status (both conditions hide those actions).
  • If the Documents modal shows no upload button, the user is missing edit.
